PM congratulates Taylor Swift on engagement

PM Luxon

NZ’s Prime Minister, Christopher Luxon has congratulated global singing sensation Taylor Swift on her engagement to international football star Travis Kelce, in a moving Instagram post that the couple, and most of the rest of the world, is highly unlikely to see.

In the video, the PM said he was a long time fan of Swift’s music, praising her for overcoming personal struggles with an overbearing parent and drug addiction.  “I just love ‘Oops, I did it again”, for obvious reasons,” he quipped. Mr Luxon also admitted he was a big fan of Travis Kelce and looked forward to seeing him play at the upcoming World Cup next year. “Maybe against our All Whites!”

Later in the video Luxon suggested Swift and Kelce might like to consider holding their wedding and/or honeymoon in New Zealand, adding he would personally pay the deposit to book the Lavender Room at the Epsom RSA and would ensure free Koru Club access to any guests arriving from overseas.

In other news, 500,000 New Zealanders are homeless, hungry and have been waiting twelve years for hip replacement surgery.
